The Legend of the Vampire Fern is officially here. Over the coming months this serialized story - including essays, transcripts, comic strips, and digital art - will be released each week. Created in fragments, each installment of the narrative is designed to reveal another piece of the mythic puzzle.
The mystery of the Vampire Fern explores the existence of a plant from the forests of Arcata, California - a supernatural fern that can’t be seen in any image.
No film, video, or digital image of any kind is able to capture it. Point a camera at the Vampire Fern and it’s as invisible as a vampire standing before a mirror. Thus the origins of its namesake.
One last thing about the Vampire Fern:
It appears differently to each individual that sees it. No one person sees the same fern as another.
We have partnerships planned with artists all over the NFT landscape, to paint/draw/sketch what they see in their moment with the mythical fern.

This fractionalized folkloric tale is ideal for storytelling on the blockchain because the narrative itself embodies decentralization. Each installment stands on its own, but when put into the community of Vampire Fern artifacts, a bigger picture emerges.
Storing the story on a universal ledger creates an opportunity for individuals to possess artifacts of the narrative. Think of it like owning a piece of digital folklore. As the story unfolds, each fragment builds on a puzzling and supernatural experience.
The story begins right here at mirror.xyz/vampirefern.eth.
Some entries will manifest as NFTs, others will live as posts that further the story along.
As the Legend of the Vampire Fern builds community, we will launch a crowdfund featuring our unique Vampire Fern token. The proceeds will fund exclusive first editions of the Vampire Fern book - a physical artifact for dedicated followers of the lore. Special access awaits hodlrs beyond the book as well.
Together with hiddenones.io, we are in development on a six-part filmic mini series, following the legend and building on the lore of the Vampire Fern.
